About Me

I am Michaela Murphy and I am an Interior Design Architect.

I graduated with an Honours Degree in Interior Architecture from Cork Institute of Technology in 2013. In the four years I attended CIT, I acquired  a wide range of skills in design, such as AutoCAD, Google SketchUP, 3DS Max and Adobe Photoshop and completed numerous design proejcts, most of which can be seen on my Portfolio section of this website. One of the most impactful skills I gained during my course was my work dedicated work ethic.

In 2014, I was awarded  "Highly Commended in Interior Architecture" at the IDI Awards 2014 for my final year college project, "The Culture Hub" which seen the redevelopment of a derelict, former warehouse to a Cultural Entertainment Centre for the arts.

Since graduating, I spent a year working in practice at JEK Architects , Cork City where I was included in numerous projects such as bar, office , multi-use space and cafe designs in conjunction with compiling Design Statement Reports, Planning Permission Reports and other documents. The experience I gained here would be valuable to any architecture firm.

Design is my passion, as cliche as it sounds, It really has been part of my life since childhood. While other children loved running around in playgrounds, I was quite content with my blocks or some crayons. To this day, my past times include arts and crafts and sketching. Through Interior Architecture, its like I can express myself through creating spaces for others to enjoy as much as I did creating them.

This website is a collection of work I have done both at my time at CIT , some freelance work I did indepentently and at JEK architects and also some personal works just for fun! :)

I hope you enjoy my website!
